Trigger Objects
Here is a very simple experiment that you can use to detect poltergeist type activity. A trigger object can be any thing; however, most commonly used items are old coins, or buttons. You must set up the experiment correctly, or any results you obtain may be considered useless. You need to place the object onto a piece of paper and draw around it. By drawing around the object you will be able to tell whether it has moved.
This is then placed on a sturdy, flat surface to be left alone for several hours.
Before finally leaving, ‘lock off’ one or two camcorders in the room, with at least one of them directly recording the trigger object. It is best to ensure the entire paper is in the picture with a clear view of the immediate area around the object. If you are using a second camcorder in the room, it is best to get as much of the room in shot as possible, with the trigger object in plain view as well.
The purpose of this is that the first camcorder will establish the movement of the trigger object, and the second will potentially capture what has caused the movement.
Having any activity recorded on two separate camcorders will prevent anyone from saying it was moved by someone just outside of the view of the camcorder. When choosing a location for the trigger object, you must not to place it anywhere that could be affected by natural factors e.g. if the location is near to a busy road, a lorry or other traffic could cause vibrations causing the object to move. Leave the objects alone for a couple of hours then check back for your results.
