Orbs
Orbs are probably the most talked-about and the most controversial subject in the field of paranormal investigation. They appear in photographs and video as small, translucent balls. These balls of light are mainly white but can be seen in other colours like red. Orbs have been put down to paranormal phenomenon, but some which are caught on camera can have a very normal explanation.
one of the most popular theories is that orbs are a source of energy being drawn from a source e.g. batteries, power lines etc, so the spirit can manifest itself. But it is thought that these lights can be caused by other things such as dust particles or a refraction of light in the camera lens. So the debate goes on as to what these really are and if they really are paranormal.
Most people believe that orbs seem to accompany paranormal activity. Orbs are the most photographed anomalies taken by ghost hunters or paranormal enthusiasts. They can be quite photogenic at times. It is believed that small orbs take up the least amount of energy, thus being the preferred form of choice among ghosts.
There has been a controversy concerning orbs. Many people do not believe that orbs are paranormal in nature. Many seem to think that the rounds spheres that have been caught on film are actually dust particles or bugs and are not authentic "spirit orbs". For this reason, it has been a debate upon nonbelievers and ghost hunters for years.
Although you can photograph authentic "spirit orbs", many appear as a result of airborne particles (dust) at the time of your flash. The best way to make sure you're photos are genuine is to take various test pictures as examples. The best way to determine a true orb is to look for the following:
1. A bright orb or one with a nucleus around it (looks like the moon).
2. Orbs that show or exhibit a vibrating effect within the photo.
3. Orbs that are colorful.
4. Orbs that have a tail and/or streak coming from them.
Orbs in motion are the best "spirit orbs" to photograph. These orbs defy all the laws of physics. This is the best way to convince nonbelievers and sceptics that what is caught on film is of a paranormal nature.
